So, Liver flush friends. What is it?

We cannot talk about liver flush before talking about the LIVER. The liver is the largest internal organ of the body and can be compared to a gigantic chemical factory that supplies a whole city with its functional (metabolic) needs. The liver is of a highest importance. In fact, you could survive without a kidney, you could survive without a spleen or gallbladder, you could even survive without a stomach, but you could NOT live without a liver. In Traditional Chinese Medicine the liver is associated with anger, depression, resentment, frustration, irritability, bitterness, and “flying off the handle”. So if you recognize yourself in these descriptions, you should consider paying more attention to your liver.
But what exactly does liver do? Our liver is a super busy organ! Busier than you might ever be in your entire life, even if you would be a CEO of a big, international company and simultaneously a parent of 5 kids. Up to 500 different functions have been already attributed to this organ and so many other functions researchers work on discovering as we speak.

First and foremost, it plays the role of a bouncer, keeping unwanted guests out of your bloodstream. The blood from the intestines first goes straight to the liver, where nutrients are metabolized and toxins neutralized. So it’s no wonder that everything you put in and on your body plays a critical role in your liver’s (and ultimately body’s) health and disease. There are further 4 basic tasks (out of which arise a multitude of different functions) liver is performing daily:

1. STORAGE and DISTRIBUTION – The liver stores various amino acids obtained from digestion then uses them to build essential body proteins. It also stores various and distributes various vitamins (A, D, E and K) and various minerals, including iron and copper.

2. CONVERSION and SYNTHESIS – The liver converts excess glucose into glycogen (stored fat) and when the body’s glycogen reserves are depleted, it converts this stored fat back into glucose. It also converts ammonia from excessive protein consumption into urea, which is then excreted by the kidney (here the importance of kidney filtering!). Various minerals and elements are transmuted into others, for example silica is transmuted into calcium.

3. SECRETION – The liver produces and secretes about 1 liter of bile per day. Bile is a fat emulsifier and alkalizing agent.

4. DETOXIFICATION – My favorite function 🙂 The liver’s immune cells digest bacteria, viruses and other pathogens within the blood from the digestive tract. A healthy liver also metabolizes to a certain degree hormones, chemical drugs and other chemicals we use daily (think not only of what we drink and eat but also everything you also use for your skin, hair etc).As you can deduct, a congested liver has effects on the rest of the body. We really have no idea how many symptoms, conditions, and diseases are rooted in an overloaded liver. It’s really not only about liver cancer, cirrhosis, and hepatitis. Nearly every challenge – from pesky general health complaints to digestive issues to emotional struggles to weight gain to high blood pressure to heart problems to brain fog to skin conditions to autoimmune and other chronic illnesses – has an origin in an overloaded liver and can improve and heal when you harness the force of this humble organ. The problem is that most adults living in the industrialized world, and especially those suffering a chronic illness, such as irritable bowel syndrome, heart disease, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, cancer, or diabetes, have no idea that they most probably carry with them hundreds if not thousands of gallstones (mainly clumps of hardened bile) blocking the bile ducts of their liver, causing all these health problems. Wondering if you are one of them? Well, if at some point of your life, you had to take medication, you ate processed foods, underwent stress and illnesses, etc. most probably you also have some stages of congestion in your liver. The purpose of the liver flush is exactly this – to eliminate this congestion in order to improve the overall health of our liver, hence of our entire body. There are different Liver & Gallbladder cleansing techniques. I personally use the one by Dr. Rober Morse and up until now I have done 3 of them. The first one was, of course, the worst! It was actually brutal! Although I read and prepared myself thoroughly for it, I did not know what to expect and how my body would react. I must also admit, that back then my liver was still “trashy” or “trash-IER” than it is now. I was not drinking celery juice every morning and I have only been eating a high-raw diet for 1.5 years. Anyways, despite the fear of the unknown, I did it because I am always striving to get better and enhance my health. After the first and the second liver cleanses, I was smashed and God bless me for having had the relfex to take a day off the next day. I haven’t slept the whole night. The first part I was observing my liver working worse than a miner, digging and pulling out all (or maybe not all but many) gallstones that were burdening it. The second part of the night and also the first part of the day, I swung between my bed and the toilet (of course, the stones wanted to go out!).
The third liver flush that I did yesterday (or the day before I wrote this article) was a piece of cake compared to the first two. The only struggle I had, was drinking the “mixture” that actually triggers the flush. It’s a mix of cold pressed olive oil and lemon or grapefruit juice. Only writing it now, makes my stomach turn upside down. It’s disgusting but it’s what is needed for this procedure.

The night was not the best night of my life, I admit, but not the worst either and had nothing to do with the previous two flushes. The only evident similarity between all the three flushes, was the headache the next day – which is absolutely normal, when your body is trying to pull out toxins from it. Once the post liver-flush hangover is gone, you feel so much better! You feel cleaner and leaner than ever before. In the long term, you will also notice that you have more energies, you sleep so much better, your skin looks much healthier, the digestion improves, your focus improves, you become more sharp. It’s as if someone cleaned your guts and brain with some miraculous lotion.

I still took a day off, because I did not know if it would be the same as the last time or different. So I spent it writing this article with the hope it could be useful for you. The reason I am not giving all the details of how to do a Liver flush, is because this practice is very powerful and you cannot joke with it. You have to prepare your body and especially your liver for it. There are people who had to go to the hospital and lost their Gallbladder only because they did not do it right. Let’s avoid this.

You know that I am however always available to guide you with my knowledge through this process. I would also be so happy to help you improve and upgrade your health holistically. So don’t hesitate to reach out.

Love & Health Always.
